CorcoranJohnChaplain John Corcoran joined Good News Jail & Prison Ministry on January 1, 1996 as Controller. He served in that position until March 1, 2003, when he was selected to serve as the Chaplain at the Chesterfield County Jail. Prior to joining Good News Jail & Prison Ministry, Rev. Corcoran worked as a government accountant until his call into the gospel ministry. He was ordained at Immanuel Baptist Church, Richmond, VA, on March 15, 1978.

John has served as a teacher at Richmond Christian School, pastor of Bethel Bible Church, Argyle, IA and Cornerstone Baptist Church, Chesterfield, VA. He also served as a Chaplain with the Virginia Defense Force, a reserve unit under the command of the Virginia Army National Guard. Rev. Corcoran received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Bryan College, Dayton, TN, in 1968. He also holds a Master of Arts Degree in Religion from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, Lynchburg, VA, which he received in 1985. He and his wife, Naomi, reside in Chesterfield County and have two grown sons.
